Usually, I try and avoid the mess that is SXSW during this time of year. Traffic is already horrendous in Austin and SXSW only increases it to the point where even going to the grocery store is on par with pulling teeth. But yesterday, I decided to give it a shot and it ended up being one of the most wonderful days of my life.
We came across this park downtown with sculptures made entirely out of recycled material. We saw people around the park building new sculptures as we were walking around so maybe it was put in place just for SXSW
After the bus ride to the center of the festivities and walking aimlessly around Austin for a time, we were exhausted and decided to hangout in a bar on 6th street and relax until some more of our friends met up with us
The bar also had a photobooth in the back corner. It cost way too much money but who can pass up a photobooth opportunity?
Captain Crunch was nice enough to stop and take a picture with us which only reminded me of how hungry I was. But who was time to eat when you're in the middle of one of the greatest festivals in the world?
Fighting our hunger a little more, we headed off to another bar on 6th street. We made some friends, had some drinks and continued on our way
We picked up our friend Cheyenne and headed off to see the premier of Don Jon at The Paramount Theater
We waited in front of the theater for a little over an hour and thought all hope was lost (notice the Grim Reaper right behind us?) When suddenly...
...A certain Joseph Gordon-Levitt appeared. How great after a long day to see one of my favorite celebrities within inches of me! Now if only I could also find Justin Timberlake, then my life would be made
Lucky!!!
